River Guard.

A strange feeling comes over a prison guard while taking out a female chain gang. It’s his birthday, his special day and as a present to himself, he makes the unusual move of taking the women to a river close by for a quick swim before heading back to prison. The prisoners are concerned about what his motivations are as he starts narrowing in on a new redheaded prisoner. In this unusual and manic-like behavior, he thinks he’s made a special connection with this prisoner but it’s not the connection he thought it was.

* The movie was inspired by the song River Guard by Bill Callahan and includes other songs by Callahan and Chan Marshal (Cat Power)
